Welcome to The Adventure Codex

Reaper Miniatures Half Ogre.
Welcome to The Adventure Codex. its a mix of all the things I tend to enjoy. Everything from book reviews, movie discussions, model kit building, miniature figures and role playing games. If its something I do then stuff will find their way on here at some point.

Imagination is the soul's happiest retreat. ~James Lendall Basford (1845–1915)

I really agree with that quote. Being creative and imaginative I find the greatest thing for dealing with the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. Life can be a maelstrom of misery if you let it.

So I try to hold the darkness at bay with good friends and fun.

On the left is a Half Ogre from Reaper miniatures. He is a hefty hunk of metal with a great big shield that needed to be attached. Luckily he stayed together. I changed the base and gave him a very metallic feel overall. I bought him on a total whim but he has become one of my favourite miniatures.

Chris Marston's S.E. 5
Aircraft have always been a love of mine. Especially flight. Model Aircraft were a great way to let me get close to the subject while still being creative. There are thousands of kits available now. From the birth of flight, through the First World War like Chris Marston's excellent build of a S.E. 5, all the way to modern jets. If tanks or ships is your thing then there is a wealth of subject matter.

The Dungeon Volume 1
I love books. Almost as much as I love Role Playing Games. Stories and adventures from fantasy, sci-fi, Noir all the way to Pirates and Musketeers. An escape from the mundane world. I will be posting either a text post or a vid depending on what captures my attention the most on the books I have enjoyed reading.

Probably my first love is Role Playing Games. My best friends have come from them, the most fun I have had is while playing them. A game that is both story driven and social. Multiple fantasy settings like Dungeon and Dragons. Sci-Fi like Star Wars and Star Trek and all new properties like Starfinder and Titansgrave. RPG's can be a great way for the family to bond.

I hope you enjoy what you find here.
